MIX TAPE FOR MARTIN

The Internet's a funny thing sometimes.

Here I am, whiling away the afternoon watching the Bills blow yet another football game, when I stumble on a link to the white house homepage where I find a speech recently given by President Bush.

I am then reminded of why the homepage's URL is "whitehouse.gov"... it seems that "whitehouse.com" is a porn site.

Which intrigues me even further and I find myself wondering what our Canadian equivalent is.

When I go to look up 24sussex.ca, no page comes up and I briefly get excited . Could it be that this prime piece of e-real estate is still up for grabs?

Unfortunately, it isn't. When I try to register the name for myself it says it is not available, but it does give me a list of alternate, similar, names that are available.

Have a look:

Not only is 24rmt.com available (which is almost identical to 24sussex.ca) but guess what is available?

mixtape24.com!

And so, because it's Sunday and I'm procrastinating from writing, and in the spirit of this Internet-stream-of- consciousness-surfing, I've gone and done up a mix tape for the Prime Minister. You can listen to it on Radio Donkey for the next week or so and, for posterity, here's the track list:

The Show Must Go On - Don't give up yet, Paulie!

Been Caught Stealing - Um, can we laugh about this yet? Too soon?

Charmless Man - It is what you've already become or what lies ahead?

Don't Get Your Back Up - Some good advice, Paulie, from one of Canada's sweetest starlets.

Get It While You Can - Some good advice from a dead drug addict.

It Wasn't Me - Advice it seems you have already taken.

Steven's Last Night in Town - Mispelled "Steven" maybe? I put this one on there because I bet you like to sing it!

Political - Why is everything between you and me so political?

A Little Less Conversation - People like the issues, Paulie. You can only run a government focused on government for so long...

O Canada - Let's remember what all this is about!

Hope you like the mix tape Paul!
